When a PDF is useful

A PDF is handy when you want a copy that does not depend on a website, for example to print for a family elder, to attach to a message for an astrologer or to keep with other documents. Because the file is made from the details you type, check the date, the time and especially the time zone before you download it. If you notice a mistake later, simply correct the form and download a new file. Nothing is kept on our side, so there is no account and nothing to delete afterwards.

What the PDF contains

The report includes the birth chart drawn in the style you choose, together with the planet positions it is based on and the birth date, time and time zone you entered. If you enter a name, it is printed at the top of the report. The name is optional and is used for nothing else.

The file is created when you press the button and downloads straight to your device as kundli.pdf. The file name never contains your name or birth date, so it does not reveal personal details in a downloads folder or a shared device.

North or South Indian style

The North Indian chart is a square divided into diamonds and triangles. The houses stay fixed, with the first house at the top, and the sign numbers move with the ascendant. It is common in North and Central India.

The South Indian chart is a grid of twelve boxes around an empty centre. The signs stay fixed, with Pisces in the top-left box and the order running clockwise, and the ascendant is marked in its sign. It is common in South India. Both styles show the same positions, so choose whichever you find easier to read.

Calculation settings

The chart uses the sidereal zodiac with the Lahiri ayanamsa, whole-sign houses and true nodes. The weekday follows the local civil calendar day rather than sunrise, so a birth between midnight and sunrise may show the next weekday compared with a printed almanac.

The PDF layout is produced by an open-source astrology library. Your details are sent once to create the file and are not stored on our servers. These results have not yet been checked against published reference charts.
