Privacy Policy

This policy covers the MyAstroLuck web app at myastroluck.com and, where stated, the MyAstroLuck blog, which is a separate WordPress site. You can reach us at hello@myastroluck.com.

When you calculate a chart, the name, gender, date, time and place you enter are sent from your browser to our web server and on to our calculation service, which runs on Google Cloud Run in the Mumbai region (asia-south1). They are sent only to compute your result.

We do not store them in a database. They are not placed in the page address. Our calculation service redacts them from its logs, and calculation responses are marked no-store so browsers and caches do not keep them. Our web host is Vercel, and its servers are not necessarily in India.

If you enter a name, the details can be saved in your own browser (in localStorage) so you can pick them again next time. They are never sent to us, except inside a calculation request when you choose a saved profile and calculate.

To skip saving, tick "Don't save these details on this device". To remove them, open "Manage saved profiles" and press Delete next to a profile, or choose "Clear all saved profiles". You can also clear this site's data in your browser settings.

When you start from the home page form, the details are handed to the tool page through your browser's session storage, read once and cleared when the tab closes.

When you type in a place box, the text you type is sent to our server to find matching cities. We do not log it in our application. Our hosting providers keep standard request logs that can include the web address of a request, and the search text is part of that address. Search results may be cached for a day.

The MyAstroLuck app itself has no analytics, no advertising and no tracking cookies. It sets no cookies at all, and it loads no third-party scripts. Fonts are served from our own site.

The blog is different, and it does measure visits. It uses Jetpack Stats (from Automattic), which loads a script from stats.wp.com and a small page-view image from pixel.wp.com to count visits. The image request carries the post being read, your time zone, the referring page and page load timings. The blog also uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which loads a script and reports page performance.

When we checked the blog as a logged-out visitor, we saw no cookies being set and no advertising. We cannot speak for what these services do on their side, so see their own privacy policies. Comments on the blog are switched off.

Vercel hosts the web app. Google Cloud runs the calculation service. Cloudflare provides DNS for our domain and sits in front of the blog. The blog is hosted by a WordPress hosting provider. These companies process data on our behalf to run the site.

Server logs: our hosting providers keep standard logs, such as IP address, browser type and time of each request, for security and operations. Our own service uses your IP address in memory to limit abusive traffic.

We use AI models on Google Cloud to help draft blog posts and daily horoscope text. Posts go through an editorial quality check. No visitor data is sent to these models. They do not receive anything you enter on this site.

If you email hello@myastroluck.com, we use your address and message only to reply to you.

You can ask to access, correct or delete personal information we hold about you by emailing hello@myastroluck.com. Because we do not store birth details, there is usually little to find, but we will check. Laws such as India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the GDPR give people rights over their data. We aim to respect them, though we make no claim of certification under either.

MyAstroLuck is not directed to children. If you are under 18, please use it with a parent or guardian.

If we change what we do, we will update this page and the date at the top. Please check the date from time to time.
